Barley is one of the cereals that we process into flakes. Like wheat, oats, rye, millet and rice, it belongs to the grass family. In barley, the fruit fuses with the husks. Therefore, the barley must always be hulled in order to be fit for human consumption. We have the right machines in-house for this. We process organic barley that can be purchased in bulk, private label or from one of our own brands.
Oats are a popular cereal that is often used as a base for porridge, muesli, granola and other breakfast products. We process them into many forms: oatmeal, oat flakes, oat groats and oat bran. Gluten-free cereal flakes
Some flakes contain a relatively high amount of protein, other cereals are packed with fibre. There is a difference between gluten-containing and gluten-free cereals. We process gluten-containing cereals include barley flakes, wheat flakes and rye flakes. We flake our gluten-free cereals on a dedicated flaking line for gluten-free products. Here, oat flakes are a special case. Oats are naturally gluten-free, but can still be harmful to celiac patients due to contamination (cross-contamination with gluten).
We process organic rye without the need for fertilisers and pesticides. Rye is a strong cereal that is not very susceptible to disease whatsoever as in the rye the grains are enclosed in the husks. Unlike other cereals, rye husks are edible. Rye is often used in beer, bread and crackers, among other things. We can flatten rye into flakes and then process it for you into muesli, granola or other products as desired.
Wheat is incredibly versatile as it has been bred multiple times over the years. Wheat has a large yield and is widely used by industry and consumers. Wheat can be the basis of granola, muesli or eaten as a stand-alone flake.
